SKI SHOES (November 15 – April 15)
Hok Ski Shoes are an alternative to traditional snowshoes or skis, inspired by the snow tools used by the indigenous people of the Altai Mountains for centuries. Unlike snowshoes, they provide some glide downhill and across flat to rolling terrain. Unlike Alpine or Nordic skis, the climbing skin portion is permanently attached, so runaway speed issues are mitigated. And their short/wide configuration aids in maneuverability and stability. No special footwear is required – just something warm/dry.
